Privacy notice
Your work stays yours.
Last updated 13 October 2026
The short version
- Kaizn Studio has no accounts and no sign-up. We never see what you type into the tools.
- Your project is saved in your own browser on your own device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Google Analytics runs only if you choose Allow. It counts which pages are visited. You can change your choice at any time below.
- The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles the technical details needed to deliver each page.
Who we are
Kaizn Studio runs this website, kaizn-studio.com, and is responsible for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, email hello@kaizn-studio.com.
What stays on your device
Kaizn Studio works in your browser. To keep your work between visits, it saves to your browser's local storage. This is part of the service you are using, so it does not need your consent, but you should know what is there:
| Name | What it holds |
|---|---|
kaizn-studio.v1 | Your project: everything you have entered in the tools. |
kaizn-studio.v1.schema1-backup | A copy of a project saved by an older version of the site, kept when it was upgraded. Only present if you used the site before 13 October 2026. |
kaizn-studio.v1.unreadable | Saved data that could not be read, set aside rather than deleted. Usually absent. |
kaizn-studio.prefs | Display settings (sidebar collapsed, editing on a phone) and your analytics choice. |
None of this is sent to us. To remove it, choose "Start a new project" in the workspace, or clear this site's data in your browser settings. Project files you save with "Save file" are downloaded to your device, and you decide where they go.
Analytics, only if you allow it
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and tools are used, so we know what to improve. It runs only after you choose Allow. If you choose No thanks, or make no choice, it does not load and sets no cookies.
What is collected
- The pages you view, for example the FMEA or 5 Whys tool.
- The page you arrived from, if any.
- Your device type, browser, screen size and language.
- Your approximate location (country and city), which Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
What is never collected
Anything you type into the tools, your project name, or the names of files you save or open.
Cookies it sets
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Tells one visitor from another, without identifying you. | 2 years |
_ga_CWZXZFX0B8 | Keeps track of your current visit. | 2 years |
Who processes it, and for how long
Google processes this data for us as our service provider and may do so in the United States. Google is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the UK recognises as protecting personal data transferred to the US. Google keeps the record of each page view for 2 months. Data linked to the _ga cookie, such as whether a visitor has been before, is kept for 14 months. After that only anonymous totals remain, for example how many people used the FMEA tool in a month. We have not turned on Google Signals or any advertising features.
Our legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time here, and it is as easy as giving it.
Checking your choice…
Hosting
Cloudflare hosts kaizn-studio.com. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare's servers process your IP address and basic technical details of each request, such as your browser type and the page requested. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. Cloudflare acts as our service provider and keeps this information only briefly.
Everything the site needs, including its fonts, is served from kaizn-studio.com. Your browser does not contact any other service unless you allow analytics.
If you email us
We use your email address and message only to reply to you, and keep them only as long as we need to deal with your question.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Email hello@kaizn-studio.com. In practice we hold very little: we cannot see your project work, and analytics data is not linked to your name.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
